The iconic red lilies on the side panels pay homage to the company's Florentine heritage, while the front panel has been redesigned for improved group visibility. This iteration of the GB5 is the first in the La Marzocco series to include a water sensor that measures the conductivity and hardness of the water as it enters the machine, providing valuable information for monitoring water quality and verifying filtration effectiveness without the need for additional tools.

The GB5 S - 2 group Dual Boiler Espresso Machine offers the options of EE, AV, and AV with scales. It also includes vacuum-insulated double-walled steam wands, Luminaire electronics (like on the PB and KB90), piero caps, and dimmable barista lights, among other advanced features. Additionally, the machine boasts an easy-to-rebuild steam valve, similar to the one debuted on the KB90, and partially exposed groups to streamline barista workflow.
